Last night got my hair washed, conditioned, cut and styled. This morning I decided to try out my new straightening iron on my ‘do. Very flat, but I think it will be great when I use different products, and I think that the cut is going to be awesome when I play with it. Going back this coming Monday for color and think I may get a bit more creative/bold with the color. And the straightening iron… well I will be reviewing it next week on Wardrobe Oxygen but I'll let you know now – it's worth it to pay for expensive hair tools! Wow!

Makeup is Smashbox Photo Finish primer, Revlon ColorStay under eye concealer in Light Medium, philosophy The Supernatural in Beige, Nars blush in Orgasm, Smashbox Soft Lights in Tint on brow bone and cheek bones, on eyes is a Maybelline shadow quad I have had for eons – a silvery gray on lid and a pearlized white in corners and on brow bone. St. Patrick’s Day party at a friend’s house. Happy to know I fit in this shirt again, I haven’t worn it in over two years. Not so happy that the last time I wore it I must have spilled something on me and didn’t get the shirt cleaned before having it sit in my closet…

  1. I find that the Smashbox primer does hide my pores a bit, helps the foundation last through the day and give me a more even look. Doesn’t en world hunger or anything, but makes me look a bit more “finished.”

As for colors… I love the book Color Me Beautiful. You can find old versions in used book stores and for a steal on Amazon and such. It’s a great way to figure out what colors are best for you. Also… I buy what I like. I shouldn’t wear orange as a “Winter” but I love it so I wear it and I get compliments because I am happy in it. I also adjust my makeup (wear bronzer instead of blush, brown-tinted lipgloss, etc.) when wearing it.

  2. Great look! Allie you have inspired me.

Love the hair. And I completely agree, expensive hair tools are well worth it. Boyfriend bought me a GHD for my birthday and it is sooooo good!

You and LBR both use the Smashbox Photo finish primer. How do you find it?

  3. That color (the teal) looks really great on you.

Do you have any advice on how to choose the right colors (if there are “right” colors) to wear?

  4. I got a Good Hair Straightener a couple months back. Its great, totally worth the $240 price tag (mine was free, I’m in the biz). There are no heat settings because the plates actually adjust to the porosity of your hair, and you can use it to put both wave and curl into your hair because the plates move. Can’t wait to hear what yours does when you dry your hair with it!

  5. I received the Turbo Ions Croc Wet to Dry Flat Iron. Didn’t yet use it to dry the hair, but will this week and will be sure to provide a very honest review once I have tried all sorts of situations. Thus far, terribly impressed! 🙂

  6. I have the Chi straightening iron and it is amazing. For me, I am just getting tired of stick straight hair. I prefer to let a little wave in—you have inspired me! You look good with both straight and curly. Lucky, you!

  7. For the price, these jeans are great. They haven’t stretched out a ton, kept their color and length… they do gap a bit at the waist but not any more than more expensive brands. They get the job done!

  8. Girl, do you EVER have a bad hair/skin day? You look SO GOOD ALL THE TIME! Sheesh! 🙂

I finally figured out who you remind me of…Leah Remini. You’re both such beautiful girls!
