It's funny, when I first wore this dress I didn't like it.  It felt too much – too much fabric, the mullet skirt, the bold color.  Now it has become a favorite because while it looks polished it's super duper comfortable and easy.  It's easy to switch up the look and level of formality with a change of accessories.  I've worn it before with a wide belt, and I like it equally well with strappy heels or pumps.

Speaking of pumps, on Sunday I was perusing 6pm.com (those of you who follow on Facebook know since I kept posting really awesome deals from their Cinco de Mayo sale) to find shoes for K and E. Found nothing for them, was ready to sign out and saw these for $25. I have had no luck with nude shoes the past few springs, figured for such a price I could try and if they sucked, could return or sell on eBay. Well they're super close to my skintone, they're comfortable, and a reasonable heel height. While I really wanted pointy for a more classic look and to look better with pants, the round toe is fun and not too twee and gives my toes more wiggle room.

  1. Thanks to your rec – I now use 6pm.com for my purchases and the girls. I generally stick to the same brands and types for them (sneakers year round, boots in winter, sandals in summer, black church shoes in winter, lighter colored church shoes in summer) so it’s easy to order without having them try them on. I also have shoes in type/categories, so it’s easy to shop for me too – I wanted a pair of nude/tan peep toe heels, and used their excellent search engine to find exactly what I want.

Since I have crippling Plantar Fascitis, I also look for my very favorite (and expensive) orthotic brands, like mephisto. I just got a pair of $200 winter boots for $20. Will be perfect for those Colorado winters next year !!!

  2. Wow I didn’t know Mootsies Tootsies were still around! My mom had bought me a pair of their shoes when I was like 12 haha loving the contrast of the dress & belt colors!

    1. E is a rockstar. I may buy the clothes, but she tells me what she likes and she chooses the combinations. She was spending the day with my mom and said it required this dress and tiara (and metal lunchbox/purse). And these shoes? “Oh these are perfect nature princess shoes!” LOL
