I love Vince Camuto for blazers. They fit me great, so great I have an eBay alert to see if I can find any for less than retail. Usually I am a 14 Regular in them, but depending on the style, a 14 Regular is too snug. While 14W is often too roomy in the body for me, this one worked I think because the fabric is heavier weight. It's such a good reminder to forget the number in the garment. Cut it out if it makes you feel better, but sizes really vary from brand to brand and even from style to style within the same brand. And one thing I've learned from my experience with a stylist is that it's better to size up and get it tailored for a great fit, than wear something that's a bit too snug.
Speaking of clothing sizes, I often get my hopes dashed when a tee shirt company contacts me, swears I will fit in their cute tops, and they end up being like bodysuits. When Bombelle reached out, I was hesitant but she swore her shirts were really flattering to curves. I received the “No One Can Break This Heartbeat” tee and the “Don't Look Back” tee, both in XL. Omigoodness I am OBSESSED with these tee shirts! Made from the softest luxe jersey that drapes so nicely, these tees are created for a curvy frame. The one I'm wearing can have a drape back or be worn off the shoulder; the Heartbeat tee is a super flattering scoop tee with sleeves that aren't too short or too long. If you watched my Facebook Live with Dia&Co, I was wearing the Heartbeat shirt. Not only are they flattering, they're super unique with great messages (there's a little quote on the side of each shirt). It's a woman-owned company that manufactures in the United States. The length is great to wear with skinnier pants, but the fabric is so light and drapey you can tuck in without bulk. I've been wearing both constantly since I received them; I wasn't paid to say all this or even to feature the shirts. I'm just excited to have high quality cool tees with unique designs on them that flatter my figure!

Orange scoop necked tee from American Apparel, gray ribbed tank from Caslon, olive ripstop cargo skirt from J. Now that my sister lives a half a mile away from me, we walk together many weekday mornings. We meet at a halfway point in the neighborhood around 6am and this morning was so cold we thought our ears were going to fall off! Autumn has officially arrived, and with it come the closed-toe shoes!…
Many style icons and experts discuss buying wardrobe staples and how they wear the same pieces they’ve owned for decades. As a woman who in the past dozen years had a baby and went from a size 10/12 to a 16 to a 12 and back to a 14/16 and now a 12/14, whose feet…
Living in the hot and humid DC area, I understand the difficulty of appearing polished and professional when the temperatures rise. Though it’s tempting to throw your hair in a quick ponytail and wear the skimpiest and lightest weight clothing in our closet, it’s important to dress appropriately for the workplace, no matter the weather….
This post is sponsored by Talbots and ShopStyle. I was also provided a gift card to choose what I wanted to feature in this post. Remember how I said in this post that we should be watching Talbots’ RSVP line carefully in the next few weeks? That watching paid off with this lady tux (link to…

Really cute outfit Allie, from head to toe (so that includes the Raybans). Love the color palette too, the booties and tee are perfect together! I wish bomBelle had more to offer in that beautiful blue!
We actually have the same tee that Allison is wearing available in the blue fog, it’s just not up on the site yet. If you’re interested, feel free to contact me directly at [email protected] 🙂
It’s the boots that grabbed my attention. LOVE those silver boots! Do they run true to size? I typically wear a 9B/medium, occasionally an 8.5, and I see that Nordstrom only has them in half sizes and there’s no 9.5. Trying to decide if the 8.5 might work.
Sadly the booties I’m wearing are no longer in stock (they’re the ‘Cara’ from BCBG) and I linked to what I found that was similar. I’m not sure how those fit, haven’t tried before.
I love how you pulled together a very chic but understandable look with my Bombelle tee…you look great! More importantly I’m thrilled to know you genuinely like them so much and you feel good in them. It was important for me to create a line that women of all shapes can look good & feel great in. I’ll admit I’m a big fan of blazers and skinny pants and you styled the entire look beautifully.

They aren’t cheap, but when you touch and see them it’s clear they’re not cheap. It’s not your standard knit or jersey, and they’re not cut straight. Also being a small business and made in the US the prices will be higher for that quality.

Me too, it’s hard to find the right one. I think because this is more of a winter white and the fabric has a bit of a sheen it works and doens’t make me look like a doctor 🙂
Happy Friday! It’s cool in Fl and we can wear layers today!! Most times tho its t-shirts and the bottoms. You are so right that we don’t want to look like a body suit. Im curvy on top and can’t wait to give these a try. Hoping or the perfect LBD tee!-Laurel Bledsoe
I would appreciate some ideas on what to wear for continuing education lectures. They are six hours, sitting on a folding chair, sometimes a table, many times not, in huge cold ballroom at hotels. Usually on saturdays, so you don’t want to have to get all suited up, ho high heeels please. We carry totes for water bottles, sack lunch etc. I have seen some horrible way too casual outfits. I want to be warm but look like I am professional, not someone in the wrong lecture. All post college ages attend. These are not conferences, not much networking happens there. I appreciate your help.
I like @sheistolerable:disqus’s suggestions. I’d likely do stretchy slim pants, a soft blazer in ponte or another heavyweight knit, with a knit top and flat ankle boots or structured flats. A scarf is a great accessory as it can keep you warm but also look polished and professional. There’s many tunics out there that look quite polished and professional – a wrinkle-free button front style, a sweater, something in a stretch silk and paired with slim stretchy pants can be quite chic and you can put a longer cardigan or blazer over it for warmth and professionalism.
It makes all the difference when we find clothing that fits nicely, don’t you think Allie??
I’m such a sucker for white–white jeans, white dresses, and therefore this blazer is right up my alley!!
I always forget to look at eBay for my clothing choices–of course, maybe that’s a good thing–like my closet needs any additions!

Love that jacket! Need a white or pastel one for spring/summer but $154, YIKES! Yea, I think I will take you lead and look on ebay!

Thank you Barbara!
Whoa. Just checked out the “don’t look back” style. It’s cute but $75 for a tee shirt is quite a lot!

That’s a great white blazer! When I put them on, I look like I’m imitating a doctor or a lab tech. The collar is awesome!

They are great shirts!
That’s a stunning outfit! That blazer is gorgeous and it looks amazing on you. And the boots add such an edgy look to the outfit, it’s lovely.

How about a sweater dress with leggings and flat booties? Or cords with a blazer and scarf?
